The use of aerial drones has exploded in the past few years. Images from a vantage point previously unobtainable are now becoming the norm, but for personal use, or for commercial purposes, the use of drones must adhere to both local and federal regulations, and for any commercial use the flight must be conducted by an FAA licensed sUAS remote pilot.
Although some restrictions still apply, the FAA has been working on procedures that allow sUAS remote pilots to receive authorization for flights within control areas on much shorter notice, so scheduling time can be dramatically shortened for a flight within areas surrounded by numerous airports and control zones.
